People With Significant Control - Changes To Disclosure

The disclosure elements of the People with Significant Control (“PSC”) regime came into force on 30 June 2016, requiring virtually all UK registered companies and LLPs having the responsibility to prepare and maintain a PSC register to provide information contained in that register to Companies House, for inclusion in the public register. 

Parts of the EU Fourth Money Laundering Directive (the “Directive”) come into force on 26 June 2017 and, from that date, companies and LLPs who satisfy the requirement to prepare and maintain a PSC register

The passing of the Digital Economy Act earlier this month means, suppliers and users of illegal streams offered through such services as Kodi add ons, could be sentenced to a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment, if convicted of illegally streaming content protected by copyright.
