Bringing a loved one to live with you or extending their rights to remain in the UK has often been a topic of much scrutiny.
The latest findings in a report released in May 2023 by the Office of National Statistics ONS confirmed net migration to the UK during the 12 month period March 2022 to March 2023 to be around 600,000. Around 67,000 of these were family visas. Most applicants were nationals of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, the US and Nepal.
The procedural stages for application differ between countries and this can cause confusion.
