Since 1999, when a small contingent marched from the British Consulate to the UN, until today, when more than 45,000 spectators line 6th Avenue to watch pipers, actors, and politicians represent Scotland in America, the New York Tartan Day Parade is a focal point for transatlantic engagement.
In the week leading up to the parade, there is a full calendar of social, cultural, and professional events. Join us for an insightful discussion with key organisations shaping these Tartan Week activities, and discover the exciting opportunities for Scottish businesses to get involved.
Our Head of US Immigration Practice, Olivia McLaren, will be hosting alongside a fantastic line-up of speakers, including:
- Kathryn Porter, US Consul General in Edinburgh
- Shannon Norstrud, Senior Vice President, Scottish Development International
- Camilla Hellman MBE, Member of National Tartan Day New York Committee, President of the American-Scottish Foundation
- Kyle Dawson, President of National Tartan Day New York Committee, Treasurer of the New York Caledonian Club
- Lolita Jackson MBE, Member of National Tartan Day New York Committee, Board Member of the Saint Andrew’s Society of NY
- Allan Hogarth, Executive Director of the Scottish North American Business Council (SNABC)
This event will be relevant to those operating in the US and also those looking access the US market.
