The Burness Paull Foundation has concluded a busy summer of fundraising by teaming up with colleagues from across the firm for our annual school uniform appeal.

This year, we were pleased to donate new school clothing, schoolbags, and stationery to three outstanding organisations dedicated to supporting families in our communities.

In addition to these essential supplies, we provided financial donations to each charity, allowing them to allocate funds where they are most needed. This year, we partnered with AberNecessities, Edinburgh School Uniform Bank, and Back to School East Renfrewshire, all of which do fantastic work to make a meaningful difference to those they support.

Vicky Hutcheson, Communication & Brand Programme Manager at AberNecessities said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Burness Paull Foundation for their generous donation of school uniforms. This support means the world to the families we work with, many of whom struggle to provide the basics for their children. By ensuring that every child has access to quality uniforms, you are helping to build confidence and dignity in the classroom. For the families we support, this is not just about clothing; it's about giving their children the chance to start the school year on equal footing with their friends, positively impacting their attainment, attendance, and a sense of belonging. Your kindness has made a significant difference, and we cannot thank you enough.”

The Burness Paull Foundation actively supported a variety of fundraising initiatives throughout the summer, helping a number of charities continue their excellent work.

In June, colleagues from across the firm celebrated Volunteers Week by sharing their volunteering experiences with organisations such as Time for Inclusive Education, Glasgow Scouts, Re Engage Tea Party Group, The Acting Bairns of Stonehouse, Scottish SPCA and Canine Concern Scotland Trust. For each story shared, the Foundation made a donation to the volunteer’s chosen charity.

Our colleagues also dedicated their time to Poppy Scotland, assisting with bucket collections at Haymarket and Waverley stations, and to our longstanding partner Street Soccer Scotland, supporting fundraising activities at Party at the Palace and EdgeFest.

The Foundation also supported numerous colleagues in their personal fundraising efforts, showcasing the incredible dedication of individuals right across the firm this summer as they took on challenges to raise money for causes close to their hearts. Their impressive activities included cycling 300 miles and participating in the 10K Shine Night Walk for Cancer Research, completing a guide dog run to raise funds for Guide Dogs, kayaking nonstop from Fort William to Inverness through the night in support of Andy’s Man Club, tackling the Three Peaks Challenge for Marie Curie, and completing a challenging 50-mile duathlon – 20 miles on foot and 30 miles by bike – for the Highland Cross Way.

Jackie Robertson, Foundation Manager at Burness Paull said: “A huge thanks to everyone who participated in fundraising initiatives over the summer. It has been fantastic to see such engagement and enthusiasm from our colleagues as they helped so many wonderful causes. As we move into the second half of the year, we look forward to our upcoming Burness Paull Foundation events and the continued support of our colleagues as we look at how we can help make a difference to our communities.”
