Chris is a partner and co-head of our energy team specialising in the corporate aspects of energy transactions. He has over 15 years’ experience acting for UK developers across all renewables technologies on transaction types including M&A, competitive sales processes, equity investment, joint ventures and restructuring. His clients include ScottishPower, EDF Renewables, Nadara, EDP Renewables, Invenergy, West Burton Energy and Ocean Winds.
Chris also heads up the firm’s equity capital markets team. He has over 25 years’ experience acting for listed companies across the UK on a wide range of transactions, including pre-IPO fundraisings, IPOs, secondary fundraisings, M&A and take private and reverse takeover transactions. Chris works with listed companies including Savannah Energy, i3 Energy, Bowleven, Induction Healthcare and Springfield Properties.
Chris has had a lead advisory role on transactions including:
- West Burton Energy’s acquisition of the 2.9GwH Thorpe Marsh battery storage project from Banks Renewables,
- EDP Renewables’ acquisition of the Balnacraig 50MW battery storage project,
- acquiring a number of onshore wind projects (some by way of joint venture) for a major UK utility company,
- advising AIM-listed Savannah Energy on two reverse takeover transactions and related fundraisings,
- advising Calnex Solutions on its £42 million AIM IPO, and
- advising various listed companies on a variety of fundraising activities.

Chris is a member of the London Stock Exchange’s Scottish Advisory Group, which meets regularly to discuss developments, challenges and opportunities within the UK listed company environment.
