Neil is a partner in our energy team who specialises in the property aspects of renewable energy projects, with over 15 years’ experience in the sector. He has significant experience acting for developers and funders in connection with energy developments across a range of technologies including onshore wind, offshore wind, battery storage, solar, energy from waste, combined heat and power and tidal projects. He also regularly provides input on major renewables M&A and financing activity across the whole spectrum of technologies.
Recognised as an expert in his field, Neil is also working with clients on landmark, market-leading energy transition projects including floating offshore wind, floating solar PV, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, and offshore platform electrification.
Recent projects include advising North Kyle Wind Farm Limited (Brockwell Energy) on the project development and subsequent £190m debt financing of the 220.5MW North Kyle onshore wind farm, and advising MUFG Bank as agent / adviser to the funding syndicate in relation to the Scots law aspects of the financing of the 882-megawatt Moray West Offshore Wind Farm.

Neil regularly leads our team co-ordinating input from various disciplines in renewable energy projects and has a qualification in legal project management, being a certified Legal Project Associate by the International Institute of Legal Project Management.
Neil is also a member of our ESG Strategy Group providing insights on how clients in all sectors can reduce their carbon footprint to meet net zero targets and ESG requirements.
