Claire is a partner in our Private Client division and is dual accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in both Private Client Tax and Trust Law. She has extensive experience in inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning including advising international clients and a particular expertise in matters of domicile and succession law.

She acts for a large number of business owners, advising on all areas of trust and tax law and in the tax aspects of setting up Family Investment Companies. Claire also advises in connection with matters involving contentious trusts and estates.

Claire is a full member (TEP - Trust & Estate Practitioner) of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has also been awarded the STEP Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients. Claire is a tutor on the private client course on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow. She is also ranked in the High Net Worth Chambers directories, and as a ‘next generation partner’ in Legal 500 for the Personal Tax, Trusts and Executries division.
