Liam is a partner in our Pensions team, having qualified into it in 2013. He has extensive experience advising employers, trustees and providers on every aspect of UK pensions law and is a director of the firm’s independent trustee company.

As a trusted adviser to many corporates and trustee boards, Liam recognises that every pension scheme and every client is different. He gives strategic advice as well as technical legal input – his unique insights and fresh perspectives enabling clients to navigate through even the most challenging scenarios.

He has particular expertise in:

  • the employer debt regime
  • resolving documentation and equalisation issues
  • complaints and disputes
  • the pensions aspects of corporate transactions
  • scheme de-risking strategies and wind up journeys
  • the pensions and regulatory implications of insolvencies and restructurings

Liam is a member of the Pensions Sub-Committee of the Law Society of Scotland and the Dispute Resolution Sub-Committee of the Association of Pensions Lawyers.
